Canavarı Gizlemek: Longlegs Etrafındaki Reddit Spekülasyonu, Viral Paratekstler ve Beklentisel Korku

Bu çalışma, Longlegs için yürütülen tanıtım kampanyasının yokluk, gizlilik ve parçalı ipuçlarını film gösterime girmeden önce katılımcı bir korku biçimine nasıl dönüştürdüğünü ve Reddit kullanıcılarının gösterim sonrasında bu kampanyayı nasıl yeniden değerlendirdiğini incelemektedir. Odaklanmış arşivsel netnografi kapsamında Mayıs-Kasım 2024 tarihleri arasında yayımlanan; resmî fragman, kurmaca Birthday Murders sitesi, ortaklaşa şifre çözümü, ilk izleyici tepkileri, spoiler içeren resmî tartışmalar ve kampanyaya ilişkin sonraki değerlendirmeleri kapsayan sekiz kamusal Reddit başlığı analiz edilmiştir. Başlıklar, 5 Temmuz 2026 tarihli veri yakalama sırasında toplam 10.625 yorum göstermekteydi. Amaçlı maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesiyle seçilen 40 insan üretimi katkı refleksif tematik analizle incelenmiş; kullanıcı adları çıkarılmış ve örnekler yeniden ifade edilmiştir. Beş bulguya ulaşılmıştır. Birincisi, görsel gizleme yalnızca sürprizi korumamış; daha korkutucu bir canavarı zihinsel olarak kurma görevini izleyicilere devretmiştir. İkincisi, şifreler, gizli dosyalar, telefon hattı göndermeleri ve retro internet tasarımı tanıtımı kolektif zekâyla sürdürülen oynanabilir bir arşive dönüştürmüştür. Üçüncüsü, Nicolas Cage'in gizlenen yüzü korku, merak ve sinemaya gitme niyetini örgütleyen duygulanımsal bir vaat nesnesi hâline gelmiştir. Dördüncüsü, gösterim bir beklenti borcu üretmiştir: kullanıcılar atmosferi, sesi ve kadrajı överken olay örgüsünü ve görünür karakteri aylar boyunca tanıtım aracılığıyla kurdukları yoğunlaştırılmış hayalî nesneyle karşılaştırmıştır. Beşincisi, kampanya filmden kısmen bağımsız bir kültürel yaşam kazanmış ve hayal kırıklığı yaşayanlar arasında bile çağdaş korku pazarlaması için bir ölçüt hâline gelmiştir. Makale, endüstriyel gizleme, ortaklaşa çözümleme, beklentisel duygulanım, bedensel seyir, değerlendirmelerin yeniden ayarlanması ve geriye dönük kanonlaştırmayı birbirine bağlayan platformlaşmış gerilim kavramını önermektedir.
